About Us
Power Through People is a network of consultants operating mainly in the field of sport, recreation, arts, play, tourism and community development. Our routine business consists of research, feasibility studies, strategic planning, business planning, service reviews and performance improvement programmes for public, private and voluntary sector clients.

We are small, energetic and efficient team of consultants working with a total commitment to quality and innovation in all we do. We hold a strong believe in the social and economic value and importance of Leisure and Community based projects and this belief underpins our approach.

We have a particular interest and experience in sustainable recreation projects, community based leisure developments and performance improvement in a number of sectors. We are equally happy leading projects or collaborating with other specialists on multi-dicipline assignments.
We fundamentally believe in the potential of people and champion the role of leisure in contributing to quality of life, improved health and nurturing the social and psycholigical well-being of individuals and communities alike.
We place community consultation, partnership working and active involvement at the core of our work. We are also committeed to action and results. We will aim to produce work that makes a difference and instigates activity and challenge. We do not produce long, dry and academic reports that fulfill an obligation to "get a strategy done". Our reports will include recommendations and action plans and will be written from a practitioner's perspective.
We regularly undertake interim roles as well as consultancy assignments in order to demonstrate that we can "walk the talk". We will have successful practical experience in delivering the subject matter on which we will be commissioned.
Brian is a demonstrably successful service Director operating within the Public and Third sectors with an excellent reputation in the management, development, reconfiguration and delivery of “Customer Facing Services” in the public sector at strategic and operational levels. Considerable experience of successful delivery of quality customer services; project management; change management and performance improvement in a range of organisational types as a result of 25+ years local government service and experience as a consulting director and interim manager since 2006. Experienced former senior manager and leader of local authority services, to Corporate Director level. Direct experience of managing all “customer facing” local authority services through a “Neighbourhood Services” concept, including all aspects of housing, social services, environmental services, community development and community re-generation, culture & leisure, education, community learning & development.
